I went down south a few weeks back to the Catlins and on my way back home stopped in the botanical gardens in Balclutha. There they had a aviary with beautifully coloured birds.
Since moving down south I have noticed a lot more native birds, so I thought I would try drawing them in a Eric Carle inspired style.. this image was made entirely with photoshop and is of Kakariki.
